Lily Allen CD Cover

The first thing about Lily Allen's CD cover is that it's very busy and theres a lot going on. The layout for the album cover is very mixed. Theres a lot of black and white and a little colour on some things to make tem stand out, but because theres so much going on, nothing really stands out.

This album cover looks very "chavy" and "cheap" as if she's not worth it. She has a lot of gold on and it's even on her bike so that could show that she's trying to make a point.

For the colours, it's very bold, using red, black and white together is very bold, there red stands out more than anything on the album except from her.

For the theme, i think she's gone for a very young theme/childish to try and catch their eye. A lot of the album would've been drawn or done on photoshop. It's a lot of animation and drawn things on the album.

There isn't much text except for her name and the album covers name, which is hidden/hard to see.

Over all, i don't think this CD is the best, because it's very busy and full. I think they could've made it a lot better, instead of having black and white with some red, i would've just had black and white with her in colour.

CD Cover

To design a CD cover package for a new album, to include the digipack design and an advert for it's release To begin i will start with some analytical research.

The Killers album with very different, it's very bright and colourful. They've taken a photo and edited it on Photoshop into looking like it's just dots and different colours to make the photo again, but in a different style instead of it just being a photo.

Even though they've made the photo and the text the same by the dots, they've still made the writing stand out.

For the colour they've pick rather dark colours for most of the album, even though some things stand out more than others, some of the colours are still darker. They've made the colours merge together which works really well for this album cover.

There isn't really much layout on the album cover, except from the Text, they couldn't of put the text any other way, because if they did it would be covering the design of the album.

Even though the album is called 'Day & Age' the album cover looks like it's been designed to show night instead of day. The cover looks like it's based in a different country or in a different age of time.

The frame is based in the centre of the photo, like if you try and think of anything that they could've added on the sides of the album, there wouldn't be much, because the text in centred so there isn't any point of having anything else around it.
